Who We Are

Sarasota Disc Golf was founded in 2024 by Tyler Parker, Benjamin Stemen, and Jacob Figgins with a shared passion for growing the sport locally. All three have been deeply involved in the disc golf community—organizing events, competing in regional tournaments, and helping build support for course design, clinics, and outreach.

Tyler has served as Tournament Director for the Team Figgins Open (now in its 5th year) and co-directed the TFO 2.0 Warmup. Benjamin is a PDGA-member who competes in MPO divisions and has placed high in local events. Jacob has supported event direction and helped connect players and the community.

The Team Figgins Open itself spans multiple parks each year—including North Water Tower Park, Lakeview Park, and Tom Bennett Park—bringing together players from Sarasota, Bradenton, and beyond.

Disc golf in Sarasota has been steadily growing. Local parks have hosted informal rounds for years, and tournaments like TFO have helped push course improvements and awareness. Our nonprofit aims to build on that momentum: design new courses, enhance existing ones, and support the next generation of disc golfers in the area.
